Welcome to Coronado! An affluent San Diego Coastal community that was founded in 1885. The land was purchased by Elisha Spurr Babcock,  Hampton L. Story and Jacob Gruendike, Wanting to create a resort community, in 1886, they organized the Coronado Beach Company. By 1888 they had built the Hotel del Coronado and the city became a major resort destination. This city boast some of San Diego's greatest architectural structures, tourist attractions, and military arrangements, which are creatively rendered in the coastal art creation below:

Commissioned in 1917, the Naval Air Station San Diego was recognized as the birthplace of Naval Aviation by the House Armed Services Committee in August of 1963.

The Naval Air Station Coronado is located at the north end of the Coronado peninsula on San Diego Bay and is the home port of several aircraft carriers of the United States Navy. The several identical looking buildings to the south of Hotel Del called the Coronado Shores Towers. These great structures often referred to as 'the Coronado Keys' were originally built in the 1970's and share some of Coronado's most fabulous view; however, since many residents were displeased with the buildings height, Coronado has set  a limit of three stories on new construction.
